Hi,

Would appreciate your diagnosis of this problem.

When I start my computer first thing in the morning, Jaws starts up but most of the time now it does not give any speech output. When I insert F4 and reopen Jaws with a three-key shortcut it then delivers speech.

About 50% of the time, everything is fine from then on. The other 50% of the time it strangely when I type speaks each character separately. When I close Jaws a second time with insert F4 and open it again then everything works and it reads whole words as I type.

I believe this whole problem began after a mild crash around April 3 which Jaws reported as an application error. The typing echo checkbox is correctly checked to say a word at a time. Any ideas as to why it might speak one character at a time on second opening, and give no speech at all on first opening?

Thanks,
Michael
