I would check to see how many programs are running in the background. =
See,=20
software speech is just that, software, so that's something that has to =
be=20
run, and the more programs you have running or the more processor =
intensive=20
it is, the slower it'll run if a lot of stuff is running. It could also=20
have a lot to do with memory caching and other factors. So if your=20
software speech stutters, you should try and close down as many running=20
programs as you can and keep it to a minimum. Either that, or if you =
ever=20
get the chance, buy yourself a hardware synth. I never ever have any of =
the=20
problems with stuttering speech everyone else seems to have, and I love =
it.
I'm glad JAWS still supports the dectalk express. I know someday that's =
not=20
gonna be the case though so I'm seriously thinking about shelling out =
the=20
cash and buying a copy of dectalk access 32 just in case. Sure it's=20
software speech but it's better than nothing.
