Have you tried to adjust your display setings? Sometimes, JAWS cannot read correctly cause your screne resolutions are to small or to large. You can change the display settings by going to the display settings under control panel. Press Start and C for control panel. I assuming that you are using Window XP.

When you are in control panel, press d twince till you heard display. Press enter on it and conCtrl + shft + Tab to go to the settings tab. Press tab 3 times then you land on the screne lay out. If your screne lay out is 800 by 600 pixel, try to adjust to 33% or 1024 by 748 pixels. Then, click the Ok button. Close the control panel by pressing Alt + F4. Restart your pc. Then, try to do your task.

Thank you for your response.

Subject: sometimes can't get to my desktop

Hope someone can help. I cannot get to the desktop list, nor can I use my windows key to get to start menu on some occasions. I use jaws 6 or 6.20 with XP home. There is some kind of replay center thing in my system tray that I can't remove no matter what I do, and when I'm in the sys tray or trying to work on getting rid of this and other icons jaws keeps saying context menu and nothing else. Escaping won't get me out of this annoying context menu. Then when trying to simply go to desktop or start menu jaws will not give me my desktop icons or start menu programs list. Windows d doesn't help either, as I've heard you can sometimes get it to go to list when windows m won't. Has anyone run across this and how can I stop this repeat of context menu and this inability to use my windows key for either desktop or start menu? Thanks.
