I just want to concur with Gene that this is now the primary meaning for
what a scratch card is, even though you can still call a perfume ad the same
thing if you say which one you mean. The full phrase that's usually used is
"scratch 'n' sniff," though.
anyway, I'm imagining a sort of online video gambling game, an onscreen
version of the lottery ticket idea. You'd probably see a sequence of blank
squares or circles, and click a control by each one to get it to reveal its
picture. And if a certain number of the pictures in the set matched, you
get a certain prize, as explained in the rules for that game.

Scratch cards are also used by some state lottery systems. You scratch off
the coating and reveal some pictures... kind of like a slot machine.
