I'm using one of that series and it works just fine with xp. I discovered
that one of my usb ports was dead.

Hi, Vicki:

When we went from NT to XP at work, all the scanners in the office stopped
working. I'm the only blind person there, so I guess I yelled the loudest
and longest. Somehow our system administrator found an HP driver that was
supposed to work with XP, but it didn't. Finally the system administrator
took a flyer and tried going from a USB connection back to a SCSI connection
and guess what--it worked! Now HP Precisionscan (or whatever the HP scanner
program at work is called) works just fine.

Not much on specifics, but I hope this lead helps.

Take care...
Dave Weddle

Subject: scanner with JAWS

I am using both JAWS 4.51 & 5.00844, and I'm in the market for a new
scanner. My OS is XP Home on my desktop and XP Pro on my laptop. Is there a
scanner that works best with JAWS and XP? I'm currently using HP 5200C, and
there are no updated drivers for XP. Thanks.

Vicki
