Hi, The default on a laptop keyboard layout is that the jaws Key only requires a single press. For the caps lock function you need to hit the key twice quickly for the native function. I'm sure another lister will chime in with something more specific based on actual experience. ----- Original Message ----- From: alice dampman To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 12:16 PM Subject: Re: read all Hi, Negeslev, I just tried all those things you listed with the caps lock key on the laptop, and they are not assigned the functions you describe. Is that because the caps lock key is the JAWS key on the laptop? alicedh@xxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: Negoslav Sabev To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 3:03 AM Subject: Re: read all It's very simple. Place kaps lock instead of insert and it will work for most commands. Be aware that the numbers from the numpad are used by jaws as follows: 1 - end 2 - down arrow 3 - pg down 4 left arrow 6 right arrow 7 home 8 up arrow 9 - pg up You have all this on your laptop keyboard, so you use kaps lock instead of insert, and just add those to it. There is a whole section with keyboard commands in the jaws help. I know it is insert (or JAWS key) 2 on the num pad, but what is it on the laptop layout? Thanks.
