RE: ppdf to image

Well, one way to do that is with Scansoft's Omnipage. I'm not telling you
that you have to scan it (though you could do that too as a solution). In
Omnipage 12, I can load a pdf file from the tools menu, and then I can
either OCR it or just save it as an image such as tiff or png.
