If you go into Add/remove programs, arrow down to set program access and
defaults. There are a series of options here. Look for the custom item,
press space on the button that probably says collapse and then you'll find
different items for setting the default web browser. If you want more
detailed options let me know.

I went into internet options
, and then to the Programs page, there was only front page,
no "internet explorer
