I find that if a document uses automatic numbering I am unable to search for
a number and find it. If others are able to find these numbers with Find, I
hope they will tell us.
I do not have a solution for your other problems.

I have received attachments that are Word documents and they don't always
read correctly, even by maximizing or putting it to normal view. I have
both Jaws 4.51 and Jaws 5, and both these versions show the same problems.
When trying to edit the document I can't get Jaws to read or find the
character I want to arrow to. For instance, I was sent a group of questions
and I wanted to find the 2, 3, etc., so I could insert my answers to these
questions. But it wouldn't find the number; it would read the numbers when
I read it with insert 2 but when trying to right or down-arrow to the number
it wouldn't find it. It also didn't read the first few words of the
document at first. Is there anything else I can do to get Word to behave
itself?
