memory and resources

Does anyone know why my resources keep on getting less and less, when I'm
not doing anything like downloading anything. What is happening to my free
memory? I have looked at the three memory programs on the jfwlite homepage,
but it doesn't sound like this will fix my problem. I have add aware in,
spybot search and destroy, spyblaster, spyguard and Norton antivirus. I
update and run thexse regularly. I also do maintenance on a weekly basis,
and disk clean up every couple of days. I'm getting very frustrated, since I
just got more memory, I have 512mb, windows 98se, and jaws 5.0884. Sorry for
