Yah. I see that now. I was able to get the update after totally removing
the beta and reinstalling it. This required help from the beta team. Oh
well. At least automatic updates are supposed to be easier now.

I've noticed a problem with the beta where the tab key doesn't move to links
in email messages with OE. When I move the cursor over the link, Jaws beta
doesn't say "link" either. I have to bring up the links list first then
escape back to the message. Then Jaws sees the links in the message with
the regular navigation controls. I don't know if this was fixed in the beta
update because I haven't been able to get that yet.

Hi Stephen,
Active links within an email would be normal, in most cases. At least that's how it is for me. In other words, this isn't some option in Outlook Express, but rather just a normal thing. If a link within an email message area is active, Jaws ought to say "link" before reading the text of the link. If it doesn't, something's the matter, and I lack the expertise to discuss that. By the way, some folks may suggest that your links are not active because the email is in plain text or because it's in Rich Text or HTML, and that it has to be changed to one or the other. But this isn't the answer.
by the way, there's only one thing where you could be needlessly confused,
here. that's if you're typing or pasting links into email you're
composing
yourself, and then trying to click on the link. That won't work. The
link
doesn't become live until you send the email.
Good luck.
