Well, you know, the intresting thing is that JAWS for DOS is free, but I bet you wouldn't have much luck with tech support. :) And in some ways, Linux can be very DOS-like. :) Mark

The thing is I am not a geek but wanted to find another way around windows and paying the jaws upgrades. I wish I was smarter and knew more. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Driesenga" <truthobjective@xxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2007 10:39 AM Subject: Re: lenix and jawsYou know, I'm surprised that they didn't think of a version of JAWS specificly for Linux. Of course, they would make very little money off it, due to the fact that most Linux distributions are free, and they'd have to charge a smaller amount for the Linux version of JAWS, but although JAWS is specificly for Windows, it *would* be interesting if some brave soul out there tried it with Linux. This is a very interesting question that would perhaps have either an equally interesting answer or just a plain "Uh, doesn't work". either way, I'm sure there's someone out there somewhere who's tried it. :) Mark----- Original Message ----- From: "john melia" <unclejam@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: "blind-computing @jaws-users.com" <blind-computing@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: <jaws-users-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2007 9:28 AM Subject: lenix and jawsHas anyone tried to run jaws with Lenox? if so what were the results. -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.comJFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.Archives located at: //www.freelists.org/archives/jfwIf you have any concerns about the list, post received from the list, or the way the list is being run, do not post them to the list.
