laptop layout & JAWS

I have a friend who is using the classic layout for his laptop, and he's
wondering if there is a key command that will allow him to periodically use
those same keys that are used with his function and insert keys for JAWS as
a numpad rather than using the numbers on the upper row of the key board.
I'm not familiar with the Classic layout for laptops, so I didn't know.
