Hi,
Are you using iTunes version 7?
If so, the news isn't good.
In order to get to the setting you need to stop iTunes from loading when
your iPod is connected, you will need sighted assistance.
When you get the settings tab in focus, you then have to scroll down to get
to the dratted option you need to turn iTunes off.
Believe me, I worked and worked to get Jaws 8 to scroll down, but I couldn't
do it.
Someone else on this list may know a trick that I don't, but I sure couldn't
do it.
And, boy, do I agree with you about inaccessible programs.
Apple could not have worked any harder to make their program useless with a
screen reader.
I got a second generation iPod Shuffle, and I could not even complete the
online registration.
