Gery,

Is your default printer in Adobe perhaps an off-line printer that needs to have 
a driver installed? It might be going out each time to look for, and install 
the driver and printer, and then triggering JAWS that the hardware has changed.

Just a wild guess, but given JAWS, I guess no guess is a wild guess. It must be 
Science!!!

  I am having a strange problem.  When I try to read a pdf file, I get a 
message saying that jaws needs to be activated.  I hav the ilm version and it 
doesn't ask for an activation key any other time except when trying to read a 
pdf file.  Any ideas?
