Do you have any idea why these adjustments are supposed to make it easier
for Jaws to perform accurately? I've gone through periods of using a more
conventional range of settings, including using HTML for all outgoing mail
except for that going to blind mailing lists and low vision or blind
correspondents, enlarging and reducing the font size both in plain text and
HTML, and none of these variations have had any effect on how my Jaws
behaves. One thing I especially want to mention is that if a person has
sighted correspondents, it really isn't very nice to deliberately give them
the tiniest email font size to squint at. For a younger person this is just
annoying, and for most people over around 40 or so it's downright malicious.
Just speaking in favor of being considerate where possible. But if Jaws
won't work for you otherwise, I suppose you have to do whatever's necessary.
But none of that really ought to be necessary in the first place. The
program's simply supposed to work with normal settings of all sorts.

Hi all,
I phoned FS today, and Dennis had an interesting fix for this problem for
those of us who have it. He told me to go the read tab in options and make
sure the box is checked that says read messages in plain text only. I did
that. and now I have to hear that annoying read edit thing. Then he said go
to the send tab in options of OE and check the box that says send all
messages in plain text, and if that didn't solve it, to uncheck the box in
send tab to see if that solved it.
One thing I did, was to go to text size and make sure my text size was set
to smallest. That seemed to help. I'm not complaining about FS, just passing
on what they said to do to fix the problem that many of us have had. I would
encourage you to make sure your text size is set to smallest. Me, the non
expert is just passing that along. Smile.
