jaws crashing when a sound is played

Hi all. I'm not sure if this is a jaws or a soundcard issue, but when jaws
is chattering and a sound is played by either msn, windows, or you know just
your regular tones you get as a computer user, well if jaws is chattering
and something chimes, jaws will crash and I have to reboot. This has
happened no matter the version. I'm using xp home. Thanks!
