I find alt plus d traps me at the address bar and I need to go back a page
to get out of it. For checking an address, I use alt plus a. That probably
works the same as F6, but maybe not.

Press alt plus d to jump directly to the address bar, when it's visible of
course. If it has become invisible, press alt plus v, then t, followed by
a. This should make it visible again. If it does not, you may have some
other problem that I am not familiar with.
