Great. I'll try that next time. i ended up taking over tonight since i was
doing the typing, and it drove my sister nuts. lol.

I've had the same experience. I either take over in JAWS or let the mouse
person take over. Now that I have time to look, I see the following from
JAWS help may be the ticket:
Tether JAWS to PC (CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD MINUS)

This command causes the JAWS Cursor to follow the PC Cursor as it moves
around the screen. Press the command twice quickly to save this setting
across sessions.
