I have all the suggested settings for display but still have trouble with Jaws getting confused while reading some things. This happens with the OE editor, Notepad, Wordpad, Microsoft Works Editor, as well as on edit boxes just about anywhere including Internet Explorer. Sometimes Jaws says "blank" where a letter exists and refreshing the screen just doesn't fix it. This happens with Jaws 7.0 and the 7.1 betas.

I don't have Microsoft Word. Actually, I have a 30 day demo pre-installed but it has never been activated.

Hi bob cat,
Go to your control panel and where it says display, you can choose classic windows or non classic, mine has the blue border around the menus. I also have my computer set at 0 percent and the font size is at normal. dave Hutchins

Which fonts work best with Jaws? I find some fonts and sizes cause jaws to read the same line twice or to get confused in some editors such as Microsoft Works Word processor..

I want to choose default fonts that are easy to read for low vision readers and nice to look at as well.

I'm also confused about font sizes. If I set a font to be size 10, Jaws says it is 15 point. Are there two ways to measure font sizes?

What's the largest practical size that Jaws can work with and looks good? I'm not talking about large print for real low vision readers although that would be good to know about as well.

Thanks.
