Oh, okay. It's not so much about what your whole routine is with
downloading and thinning out your incoming email, but just the fact that you
delete messages while they're still open, as I know can be done. So that's
when Jaws says "message deleted." Okay. I just am in the habit of exiting
a message before deleting it. Of course (well,of course for me, anyway),
there are plenty of messages I read but then wish to keep, at least for
awhile, so I can respond to them, or file them in subfolders, or reread
them, later, so I just am not in the habit of deleting that way.

but I see, now. thanks for explaining.

Hi, Margaret is correct about 6.2 having a different script.
I have the habit and custom of doing the following:
1. Download messages to my In Box in O E.
2. Arrow down through the many messages and hit delete to cull the list
down to the messages I want to read.
3. When complete, I go back to the beginning of the remaining messages and
enter on the first message.
4. Upon finishing this first message, I hit delete to enter the body of the
next message. At this point, JAWS says Message Deleted for each and every
remaining message deleted while in the body of same.

It is this verbiage that some of us find tedious and wish to silence as
before.
Hope this makes sense. Mitch

Hi,
I missed some of this, but I'm just curious: Just when is it that Jaws is
saying "message deleted" for you? When I hit escape to close an email and
then press delete, Jaws reports "deleted," just once at that moment, which I
appreciate as confirmation. And that's all. It's doesn't say "message
deleted," just "deleted," and it says it only once. Not wishing to object to
anyone else's sensibility, is this what some find annoying and wish to
silence? Again, I'm not objecting, just trying to figure out if I'm having
anything like the same experience, but reacting differently.

thanks.

Keith,

I wanted to stop JAWS 6.2 from saying deleted in an open message
in OE and had the same instructions you posted which had worked in
previous versions of JFW. However, it seems that FS has changed the
script and I wasn't finding the line that had appeared in the other
versions.

I posted to another list to see if anyone there could offer a
solution, but didn't get any replies. I'd be grateful if someone here
has a fix or tells me that I'm behind with my caffeine consumption and
the script hasn't been changed after all.

Thanks,
Margaret
