Hi there,A dongle is a piece of hardware (usually the size of a small USB thumb drive) that is used for software authorization. When a software reads the information stored in dongle, it will use this information to authorize itself. This is useful if you don't have any activations on your computer and wants to use JAWS as a full product until you reactivate.

dongle's are not free? maybe I got mine forfree then because of the fact that when I got my laptop there wasn't ILM. makes sense now.
