dell laptop and closing lid

I have been using Dell laptops since 2000 and have always closed the
lid.  I have experienced no problems from doing this.  I'm not saying
I'll buy you a new one but personally I do it all the time.  I am on the
computer for 8 to 9 hours straight every day.
