Hi Troy,
First, authorization keys are not limited by any type of time frame. The
only time an authorization key would expire would be if Freedom Scientific
changes the type of authorization being used.
Second, if you already have a SMA with Freedom Scientific, once you have
received all of your upgrades, and your current SMA is all done, you won't
have to purchase another Jaws. Since you will own a current version of
Jaws, all you will have to do is purchase a new SMA. Actually, with myself,
once my SMA was all done, Freedom Scientific sent me a floppy disk with the
forms to fill out to purchase my new SMA. All I did is filled out the forms
on the floppy, and returned it with my payment to Freedom Scientific. Now,
they might have changed their procedures since then, but if you own a
current version of Jaws, you can purchase a new SMA.
And Third, I have never heard of this conversion item you referred to. I am
still using my original authorization key with Jaws 5.00812 that I received
with my purchase of Jaws 3.7. I have never had to change or convert my
authorization key for any version from 3.7 to the current version 5.00812.
I hope this information has been helpful!
Chris Chaffin
