Hi Chris and list,
You can close the Help topic in Outlook2003 by pressing CTRL+F1.
If it (known as the "task pane") doesn't have focus at the moment, F6 will
shift focus from the Inbox to it.
HTH,
JamesJ

Is it possible to close the help topic in Microsoft outlook version 2003?
