When something like this happens to me, I infer something has gone haywire
with how the CPU and keyboard are interacting with each other. A reboot
almost always solves the problem. Have you tried that?

Subject: caret browsing
i am using jaws 11. i am trying to pull up a list of links in firefox 3.6
with the INSERT F 7 command, but each time i try it asks me if I want to
turn caret browsing on or off. I choose off and select no. Yet, when i press
INSERT F 7 again it still won't pull up a list of links it keeps asking me
the same question about caret browsing. Same thing is happening in IE 8.
