accessibility of blackboard and JAWS

has anyone used blackboard with JAWS? a friend is using JAWS 7.1 with Windows
XP home and is finding it quite inaccessible. blackboard used to be Webct, but
blackboard now owns webct. she is also using internet explorer 6 and/or Mozilla
Firefox 1.5.0.12.
any help would be great, as she is using this for school.
