Neither your suggestion nor trying to start versions 8 or 9 from the run
dialogue worked for me. What got me going on about this was listening to
something on FS Reader where the guy was switching freely between versions 8
and 9. It reminded me of using 4.5, 6 or 7 depending on how each worked with an
application. If this is not rocket science, why won't it work?

Did you actually try my suggestion though? and if so, did it work? If
it did, then let's call it a success and move things along. If not,
you might just be better off going to the start menu, hitting r for
run and typing jaws8 or jaws9 and pressing enter for the version you
like to run. This is not rocket science, y'all.
Either it works, or it doesn't.
