Try copying the text from the misbehaving document to the clipboard and then
open a new document and using the "Edit" menu, go to "Paste Special..." and
press {ENTER}. Now press the letter "u" key until you hear "Unformated Text"
and press {ENTER} again.
Now check the text with all formating removed and see if the problem is
resolved.
