Using the Proof Reading Scheme

Judith, I believe, asked whether everything is a toggle in the Speech and Sound
Scheme list --- that which comes up after pressing JAWS key plus Alt plus S.
In fact, the options are a bit odd. At the top of the list is the training
mode on/off toggle. The only way I've been able to get that to work is to
cursor to it and then hit ENTER. Doing so, however, throws you back into Word.
So, to choose a different scheme, you have to hit Alt plus JAWS key plus S. I
don't know why the JAWS programmers didn't make this a check box.
Anyway, the remainder of the choices in the lists are like a combo box. So,
cursor to the scheme you want
and press ENTER.
To get out of one of the proof reading schemes and return to good old basic
reading (no attribute indications), go back into the Speech and Sounds list
(using JAWS key plus alt plus S), cursor to "classic" (NOTE this is just plain
classic) and hit enter.
There are a couple of other variations on classic; so be sure you arrow past
them to plain "classic."
That will bring you back to factory settings -- with your global voice
adjustments you made shortly after installation.

I hope this helps.
