You know Norma, I don't think you've lost your mind, temporary or otherwise, 
smiles, but rather, the feature isn't there! There's no way, as far as I can 
see, to stop JAWS announcing "blank" per blank line, unless, I suppose, you 
add it to the JAWS dictionary, replacing "blank", without quotes, with 
silence (no, not the word, but something like a space, for example), but of 
course that would mean that if you type blank JAWS wouldn't read it, surely.
