Hi Catherine, What was the file extension on the document? Even if it is a .doc, there could be an image within the document itself, and this would prevent Jaws from reading it, but if you scan it, it could then be read, because the OCR will change it to readable text. So, you will have to find out from your collegue, how the document was created.
