Actually, even the factory-default dictionary has entries, all those added by FS.

If I understand you correctly, your OE dictionary has no items in it. That is because you haven't entered any. The dictionary is there to let you pronounce words or phrases that JAWS doesn't speak to your satisfaction.

I hope I haven't mesread your question.

when reading my title bar while in the dictionary manager, the correct Program is associated. In this case, it's my e-mail application, Outlook express 6. There aren't any entries in the dictionary though. How can OE be restored to its default settings? It would seem that JFW would need to be restored also. Is this accurate?

When you are in a program and hit Ins-D, make sure the file name for the manager says the program name before the dot jdf. You may be having a problem because you have opened a dictionary file for the first time and it needs to be saved with a filename.

You can just say ok to the default filename, or edit it just like you would in saving a word document.

After that, yu should be okay.

Anita,
To get to the dictionary manager for Out Look Express only:
1. Press the insert key plus the letter D ( This will open up the Dictionary Manager for Out Look Express only )
2. It should open to add, if not tab until you hear add
3. Here press the enter key
4. The first thing you will hear is actual word ( Here you put exactly the letters and words you want to replace )
5. tab down once to replacement word ( here type in the word you want to hear )
6. Now tab down to OK and hit the space bar
7. now press alt plus the F4 key and this will save the changes you have made ( here it may also ask you if you want to save the changes you made and you should choose yes )
You can easily delete any changes you have made by following these instructions ( This you can do if the change doesn't work ):
To delete the change you made all you have to do is:
1. Press the insert key plus the letter d( This again will open the Dictionary Manager for Out Look Express )
2. tab down until you hear Dictionary extended selection list box
3. Now tab down until you hear the change that you want to delete
4. Hit the delete key and that will get rid of that selection
5. Do an alt plus F4 and it may ask if you want to save the changes you made, just click yes and you have deleted that selection and saved that deletion
Hope this helps,
Brian

Hi List,
how does one change entries in the Dictionary Manager? Does this process change from version to version?
