Hello Cher, All in all I am satisfied with The Shield. Sure there are some areas where it can be improved as far as accessibility goes, but it runs fine alongside Jaws and I really haven?t had any problems with it or the firewall. That and it?s no where as big and cumbersome as Norton and those other software?s. _____ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Cher Bosch Sent: Friday, August 24, 2007 7:36 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: "The Shield Deluxe" & JAWS- Accessibility? Dear Cristobal, Thanks a lot for that info. I'm using BitDefender which has similar issues as far as having to use the JAWS cursor a lot. It also seems like most security program interfaces have that multi--column text presentation which makes it rather hard to even figure out which text goes where while the JAWS cursor is reading across the entire line. I'd love to find a security suite with a simpler interface to recommend to my students. Performance is better than anything else I?ve used, but it?s not entirely accessible. You have to play with the cursers a lot and the firewall you can?t really navigate with jfw. That being said, I am satisfied with both products and even though the firewall isn?t exactly screen reader friendly, it doesn?t interfere with my day to day usage of my pc. Dear List- Has anyone tried "The Shield Deluxe" with JFW? It seems to get very high marks and is supposed to have a very friendly user interface which does not require a lot of technical knowledge to manage. I'm looking for a complete security suite for my computer students. Thanks. Cher
