SpellCheck in Word 2000

Hi Listers!
Is it just me or does even JFW 5.0 still have problems in spellcheck in
word?
Spell check will simply stop at some times and not read a thing. At other
times, I can't seem to find the text as it then exists.
I used to use some speed keys for spell check but those did not seem to
function much better so I gave up.
What am I missing and is there a fix?
