This is a problem that is directly related to the amount of workbook-specific settings that JAWS now loads--because these settings need to re-initialize every time you return focus to the spreadsheet. You may also find that if you close Excel too many times you will have to reboot completely to get JAWS to kick in again. Very frustrating--I'd gladly give up the new settings save to get Excel back to the stability it had before Version 4.51. It hasn't. What has been happening is that when in an Excel spreadsheet JAWS stops=20 speaking. It works for a while and then when I arrow to a new cell it is=20 silent. I can usually alt tab away from Excel and then back again and=20 speech comes back. Sometimes I can press the alt key and open and close the menus and speech comes back. This is really driving me nuts. Does=20 anyone out there have any suggestions. BTW, the spreadsheets I am using are not large as they are new ones for 2004 and have maybe 30 rows and 6 columns.
