Corresponding with a computer via email today is as commonplace as
letter writing and sending cards was several decades ago.
Including animation, music and various graphic symbols is an accepted
practice of enhancing the entertainment value of a personal note or
driving home a point in advertising to make it more memorable.
As a blind person these graphics and animations are meaningless to
myself as well as most of the people I happen to communicate with.
The screen reader does not do very well at describing or explaining
them.
Now, what I can do to impart a little humor to my intended reader is use
the vehicle we both have in common, the screen reader.
If I can have JAWS provide various sounds which may illustrate a point,
provide a laugh or otherwise help me create a particular image or mood
then so much the better.
More than one person has commented that they would like to know how one
gets JAWS to do those sounds.
While the mechanics of actually combining letters to produce various
strange sounds is seemingly simple to those folks who have made
typographical mistakes causing JAWS to come up with some unintelligible
rhetoric there are many on this list who may not have had that
experience.
Therefore these collections of odd wad looking letter combinations do,
indeed, have something very valid to do with JAWS...

Hello Matt, I asked for the posts off list to show my sighted wife but
I
don't mind a few posts on list for an education on some bonus features
of
JAWS that I had not thought of myself.
You smiled lately dude? Mitch
