Yes, You can remove the custom highlights if they are not doing what you want.

Subject: Screen Highlight colours

Hi friends,

I have an application which seems to be quite funny with screen colours and
highlight tracking.
it works fine on a Microsoft windows XP machine but the colours have to be set
to 16 bit otherwise the highlight bar doesn't track.
I have set these colours up on Microsoft Windows Vista but something is
different as it won't work.
If I add a new highlight colour through the Highlight configuration using
insert plus F2, can I remove it later if it doesn't work or decides to give me
too much screen information?
