Margaret That is correct sighted people don't have to go backwards to add an item to the cart nor to put the amount in the edit field. So the question is why should we? They also don't have to wait for the page to reload every time they choose something. They can zip through a shopping session in less than 20 minutes as my daughter has done this from a jumbo list. I know I have spoken to them at Pea Pod about their site not being the best to navigate but with each update it never gets any better. Regarding the updated confirmation list I don't even get those any more. If I add on I have to write it down so I remember what I added because those lists stopped coming months ago. When I went back to add some things to my cart I had a fair amount of time before I got the message. I tried adding an item to my cart after I got the message and exited the program. The item was listed on my updated confirmation message. I can't explain why the site wouldn't let me search for items earlier today after I'd gotten the message. I asked the second tech support person about the business of having to go backwards to add an item to the cart. She said that sighted people don't do it that way. I don't have anyone here who can check it for me, but will ask the guy who's supposed to know about screen review programs when I can get him. I'll let the list know. Margaret "bjones" wrote: Well Pea Pod is not the best site to navigate to begin with. Having to go backwards to add an item to your cart has always baffled me. However they do have a really nice guy who is very familiar with screen readers Jaws in particular and he is very helpful. I'm sorry my suggestion didn't work. I know they recently were supposed to have changed something on their site so maybe I won't be able to ignore those messages any more when I go back to shop. Please let us know how you make out once he returns. I tried ignoring it when I got it again today and tried to get back into MY List from the regular screen or vice versa and Peapod wouldn't cooperate. I also couldn't search for an item and it was as if I was blocked or something. I've had pretty good luck exiting Peapod, waiting a few minutes, and then getting back in and having Peapod respond to my keyboard commands. I should add that I don't remember exactly how the tech support person phrased it that they had someone who knew something about screen review programs. It might have been that he supposedly knew the most about them or that he was quite familiar with them. Margaret "bjones" wrote: I get this all the time and just ignore it. It usually sits at the bottom of the page at all times but I just keep shopping. I have not been cut off from the site. I think Wednesday is the day they do maintenance and have gotten a message that I can't get on the site but as far as the 5 minute warning or 00 minute warning ignore it. I'll be happily adding items to my cart when I receive a message to the effect of "We're sorry, but you must end your shopping trip in 000 minutes so we can conduct system maintenance." It doesn't seem to matter what time of the day or night I visit the site. I could understand getting the message close to the cutoff times for morning and afternoon/evening deliveries, but I've gotten it well before the deadlines for placing orders. A five minute warning would be helpful, but I've never gotten any advanced notice. The first technical support person I spoke with at peapod.com said that I should be getting a five minute warning before I get the 000 message and suggested that I have allow pop ups turned on in XP Home with SP 1 and 2. I tried this with JAWS 6.0 and it didn't fix it. I told the second technical support person I spoke with that I still had the problem and that the fix suggested by her colleague didn't work. She said that the person who was the most familiar with screen review programs was on vacation. I recently installed JFW 6.2 and visited the site tonight and still didn't get any advanced warning before I got the 000 minute message. I'm running IE 6. The tech support person should be back by now, but before I call Peapod again, I was wondering if anyone has visited the site to buy groceries and has gotten any kind of advanced warning that they must end their shopping trip or just the 000 message I get? I'd appreciate any suggestions for other changes to XP or JAWS I could make.
