I have Norton System Works. What I do is open options, then click on
anti virus. I tab down to customize, route Jaws cursor to PC cursor and
arrow up to miscellaneous, then left mouse button click on it. The
dialogue opens where you can tab to disable office plug-ins.

I don't know what you have with antivirus only, but clicking on
miscellaneous is the key.

Subject: Problem with Word 97

Hi all,

At work, I use JAWS 6.0, Windows NT, NortonProfessional anti virus, and
Word
97.

When I am in Word 97, making entries in a word file, JAWS just quits
talking. When I save the file and close out Word 97, JAWS starts talking
again.

A sighted co-worker says there is a paper clip image that comes onto the
screen and something like an assistant or wizard, but it is not the
infamous
office assistant.

I have renamed the folder called ACTORS to ACTORS.OLD. I have the view
to
normal, zoom to 75%, standard and formatting checked in the tool bar sub
menu, and made changes in the options tabs. My screen is maximized. I
seem
to remember something about an office plug-in somewhere in Norton that
needs
to be unchecked, only I don't know how to get to that in Norton
Professional.

Could this be my problem or does anyone know of something to fix this
problem?

Thanks in advance,
Marvin
