That is already done and it is also not marked to start when I start Outlook
Express.

Go into preferences, and in one of the tabs, there is a check box which
toggles whether or not it comes up at startup.

I am using Jaws 7.1 and have Windows XP Home. When I run Jaws it starts the
Windows Messenger which I have turned off everywhere else. How can I fix this
problem. It is causing Outlook Express to crash. If I use End It All and stop
Windows Messenger from running then Jaws also stops. That is very likely why
Outlook Express and Jaws crash when I switch users and further why the Log On
screen for Outlook Express thinks it wants me to select an identity even when I
am not near the computer.
When I start Window Eyes the Windows messenger does not automatically
start.
Is there a fix for this problem or is it becoming a requirement to run
Windows Messenger when using JAWS? Certainly hope not!
