I have found the same thing in Outlook 2000. I go to the address book.
There I can do kind of an auto complete.

Subject: Outlook 2000 and autocomplete

Hi List,

I have used Outlook Express and know what you are all talking about. It is
nice to have the autocomplete function. I switched to Outlook 2000 when I
purchased my PacMate because of the Syncronize function which used Outlook
2000. Now, I have done all the things that have been suggested and searched
the features and the help (such as it is) and find absolutely no way to make
this work. I truly believe that the final word on this subject may be that
it just doesn't work. I missed this feature when I switched too. If
someone has outlook 2000 and finds this, please let us know. I have the
check name feature checked and it doesn't make any difference. Linda Y
