I'll thank you not to be so presupposing and arrogant as to change my messages. Here is the information you requested, as posted fifteen minutes ago. How do I change the setting for speaking OnMouseOver information in JAWS? Answer: HTML allows the author of a page to set an OnMouseOver attribute for most HTML elements that runs specified code, such as JavaScript or Visual Basic Script, when a visitor moves the mouse pointer over the HTML element. Often this is used to momentarily display text, graphics, or links. Beginning with the release of Version 5.1 or later, this option is set by default so that no OnMouseOver information is spoken. To change this setting, you need to go to the HTML page in the Speech and Sounds Manager and select the appropriate radio button. 1. Press INSERT+F2, select Configuration Manager, and press ENTER. 2. Press ALT+S to open the Set Options menu and press M to choose Speech and Sounds Manager. 3. Press ALT+E to activate the Edit Current Scheme button. 4. Press CTRL+SHIFT+TAB until you move to the HTML tab. 5. In the List View, use the arrow keys to select OnMouseOver. 6. Press TAB once to move to the selection of radio buttons. 7. Use the UP or DOWN ARROW to select either Speak HTML Attribute, Play Sound or Ignore. 8. Press TAB until you move to the OK button, then press SPACEBAR. 9. Press ALT+F4 to close the Configuration Manager. Press SPACEBAR on the Yes button when JAWS asks if you want to save your current settings. -- Bruce Toews E-mail and MSN/Windows Messenger: coke_drinker@xxxxxxxx Web Site (including info on my weekly commentaries): http://www.ogts.net For the best oldies anywhere visit http://www.treasureislandoldies.com On Wed, 27 Oct 2004, david poehlman wrote: > you've changed the thread so I've corrected your message below: > Pleast post the excerpt in this thread. > > Johnnie Apple Seed > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Bruce Toews" <coke_drinker@xxxxxxxx> > To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 10:01 AM > Subject: OnMouseover > speaking of OnMouseover information can in fact be turned off > specifically, without turning off the reading of element attributes. > Information on how to do this is in the FS knowledge base excerpt I posted > earlier. > > Bruce > > -- To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
