Before installing the Homer User Interface provided by Jamal Mazrui, and which adds functionality to Notetab Lite and Pro, I was able to use the Custom Highlight Assign to assign, I believe it was black on black, to a highlight, and henceforth Notetab Lite identified selected text with JAWS.  Homer adds functionality to various programs.  I mostly like it, but not always.  One of the features it adds is the ability to mark a spot with f8, move elsewhere in the document, and then hit shift-f8 to select all between those two places.

Again, before installing Homer, I was able with a little help to create a couple Notetab clips to do the same thing with unenhanced Notetab.  I can send those clips to anybody who wants them.
