For anyone else here who's a New York times reader and has been frustrated
by the format changes that incapacitated Jaws on the site a month or so ago,
here's something from Eric Damery of Freedom Scientific that is encouraging.

Hello Rebecca,
Yes, the NY Times issue is solved in JAWS 7 and we have a work around
for folks using 6.x. I am pushing to get this posted as a TSN this week
and in the mean time, I will get the instructions sent directly to this
list today if you would like. Eric

Eric, any word on the problem with JFW 6.0 and the New York Times web
site? Will this be resolved in the release of JFW 7.0?

All,

We have been in Private Beta with JAWS 7.0 for the last 2 plus months
and we are currently on schedule for Posting the Release for all 7.0
customers to download the last week of September. Just prior, we will
post the complete What's New for review as well.

Our Private Beta group includes approximately 120 Beta Testers from
around the world and we re-cycle approximately 15% of the team each
release. I'm confident that this team is doing a very good job at
beating up the version and all of the features and fixes.

Note that this version is a paid for SMA upgrade and all other updates
over the next year or so will be free for 7.0 customers. This version
will install to its own folder and will not interfere with earlier
versions of JAWS you may have installed now or might install in the
future.

If you are not authorized to receive 7.0 as part of an SMA, you will
find the 40 minute demo version posted at the same time as the release
so you will be able to try it out.

In the event someone has just purchased JAWS since August 1, 2005, this
7.0 release will be provided to them at no additional charge provided
they register the license.

More details to follow soon!
Regards,
Eric Damery
VP Product Management Software
Freedom Scientific, Inc.
