My JAWS 6.1 disaster!

Hi all! I was really excited about the new update to 6.1 so I downloaded
and installed it right away. The install went as smooth as you like,
everything was cool. So, I murged my settings with 6 and then went to test
things out. I am sad to say that, for whatever reason, msn messenger 6.2
would not work on my system here. I could read the input window, in other
words I could read what I was typing, but the history window would not read
at all. Nothing, zip, absolutely silent!
Well, being a former beta tester, I figured, Ok, I'll quit 6.1 and
re-launch 6.0 and see if it works there. Well, to my shock and amazement,
msn 6.2 didn't work with that either! I was really frazzled now. So,
I did a repair on 6 thinking that would work, but no dice. Still same
condition as before, I could read what I wrote, but not what other people
wrote to me. Well, to make a long story very short, I ended up having to
scrap everything and re-installing JAWS 6, and I was even asked to
re-activate. I have sent in a request to have my count reset, so hopefully
they'll do that in a few days. I'm just really upset that the whole upgrade
process didn't work the way it was advertised to.
So, if you're using MSN Messenger 6.2 with XP Home, be careful! Install
this newly updated version at your own risk. If it works for you,
fantastic. If not, stick to 6 until FS can get their *** together.
What's interesting is I have friends using XP Pro and the update works
flawlessly, so go figure. Anyways, there's the report. I've only rebooted
this computer about 5 times now, and I've finally got everything working
again, so I'm really just thinking I'll stick with 6.0 for now.

Thanks guys
The rather frazzled Chris
