Musical conformation sound not being heard after message sending

Hi everyone: usually after I send a message too someone, I hear a little two
note musical message which lets me know that the message has been sent. Now
however, I don't hear anything at all. meaning, there no little music sound
when I send any message at all. I do however, see that the message was
sent, because I see that the message is in my sent items folder. Is this
cause for concern, and how can I fix it. Any help is appreciated. al I am
using out look express.
