Ann
I've been doing some messing around with Linux or more precisely,
Ubuntu. Try typing ubuntu into Google and have a read about it. It has
a speech system called Orca built into it. The great thing about it is
that it is all free software and they will send you the install disk or
you can download it.

Cheers
Another Chris

Hi Chris,
Could I please become a member of the geek club, pretty please, with
sugar
on top?
I would love to learn about Linux. I am buying a new PC and I hate to
go
with XP Media rather than Vista if Vista is the standard going forward.
I
have my old computer which i might format my C drive and try to install
Linux just to experiment. What speech would I use?
I am narrowing my choices about processors, RAM, and periferals. But I
am
still hung up on what operating system to buy. I am frugal and do not
wish
to waste precious dollars.
I just need to know that my other tech gadgets will work on operating
system
of choice.
With love,
Your wanta be geek, ann big grins
any suggestions is most appreciated
