Not true. You can assign a WAV file sound scheme to the "discover feed"
event on the Sounds page of the Control Panel. This way, when you use IE and
land on a web page that contains RSS feeds, you will hear a distinctive
sound. This is a Windows function, not a JAWS function. You can't do this
with Firefox.

Internet Explorer doesn't provide an audible alert either. The beep is
actually added by JAWS. Freedom Scientific could apparently implement the
same beep for Firefox, but haven't as yet. See discussion at:
