Realistically, you want JAWS to do as little interpretation for you as possible. For one thing, dictionary entries take up space, and there are so many "just a few exceptions" that people want to see in JAWS that to accompdate them all would be monumental, CPU-intensive, and leave little room for customization. Also, different synthesizers come preprogrammed with different predefined pronunciations. Third, this leaves room for error: I'm tired of my speech synth saying "drive" for "doctor", so I wish it would just say d r. In my personal opinion, the less customized the punctuation, the better as it gives me the freedom to choose what I consider to be important and not have pronunciations imposed on me. There are already way too many entries, in my opinion, in the default dictionary, many of which are hangovers from old versions of Eloquence.
